Mayfox

Commander Shepard is my only female cat. She is a queen and I love her pizza snatching little face.

This Patch was made based on one of my sketchbook drawings. It originally was going to say, “Get Some Rest” but I loved the idea of this little creatures defensive mechanisms and thought, “Don’t Panic” would make a much better patch. Don’t Panic has become sort of step one in my day to day life lately.

This is the magnet I based my glow in the dark pin on. I love this little face. Axolotls are a common subject in my artwork. There derpy little faces make me happy.

I have about twenty magnets that I have hand painted on wood disks. I am enjoying making them because they are a small project that I can start and complete easily and yet they can be a bit challenged because of the size. It has been fun thinking of different designs and creatures to put on them. Right now I am working on including the magnets into small book to self publish. My plan is to hide the magnets and then take pictures to make it sort of an eye spy project. I plan on calling this book Mischievous Magnets by Mayfox but I may keep playing with the name.

Thank you for reading my first blog post! I feel a little nervous about writing but I am very thankful for all the people who have been so supportive of my art and so I want to put the effort into sharing photos and updating all of you with my current projects.

I recently went on a mini vacation to Norfolk, Virginia to visit friends. I had intended to do some watercolors but ended up really enjoying my trip and not even getting out my supplies or taking that many pictures. I was amazed at how fast time went by. I came home to a clean house and am looking forward to tackling some projects this next week. My goal is to get some more unpacking done, finalize my new business card design and pop over to the post office to mail a few things off to there new homes. I hope everyone enjoys their week and I look forward to updating you with what is going on art wise. Please note: Be forewarn you there is a good chance of cat pictures popping up.
